Privacy Policy

How Land Ruler handles location, measurements, photos, accounts, cloud workspaces, advertising and purchases.

Effective and last updated:

At a glance

Land Ruler lets you measure land with a map or foreground GPS, save projects and attach notes and photos. Device projects stay on your device unless you choose to move or share them through a cloud workspace or export them. Cloud workspaces use Firebase and can be visible to permitted team members. The free app can show Google AdMob ads, subject to the available consent choices. You control location and photo permissions in iOS Settings.

Who we are and what this covers

This policy covers the Land Ruler iOS app operated by MOBILERISE BILGISAYAR YAZILIM ENERJI DANISMANLIK TICARET LTD STI (MobileRise). It describes app features and the service providers used to deliver them. Other apps or websites, including links you open from Land Ruler, have their own practices.

We use information described below to provide measurements, save and synchronize projects when requested, manage accounts and team access, respond to support requests, show eligible ads, and provide paid features. The information processed depends on the features you use.

Data used by Land Ruler

Maps, search and location

The iOS app displays Google Maps. The map service may receive map requests, view information, device and network information as described in Google's terms and privacy policy. When you search for a place, Land Ruler first uses the iOS device's native geocoding service. If it returns no result, the app sends your search text to OpenStreetMap Foundation's Nominatim service and then, if needed, to the Photon service operated by komoot. The device's native geocoding service is also used to turn a selected coordinate into a place label. These providers can receive the query or coordinate and related network information.

With your permission, Land Ruler can read your current location to show your position or measure with GPS. GPS recording uses location while the app is in use; this iOS version is not configured for background location recording. A saved track can contain coordinates, timestamps, accuracy, altitude, speed, heading and measurement details. You can also create measurements by tapping the map without granting location access. iOS Settings lets you withdraw location permission.

Projects, notes, photos and files

Projects can contain a name, description, mapped points and shapes, GPS tracks, notes, dates, map view, attachments and photos. When you choose the camera or photo library, the app processes the selected image and related file information and saves an image copy in its app storage. It stores project and recovery data locally, including a recent session's map position, so you can continue work. Only attach or share photos and notes that you are comfortable making available to the people who can access that project.

Projects in the Device projects workspace are stored locally and are excluded from cloud synchronization. If you choose a cloud workspace, Land Ruler synchronizes its project records and revisions through Google Firebase Cloud Firestore and uploads associated images and thumbnails to Firebase Storage. Notes, map geometry and GPS tracks within those cloud projects can therefore be accessible to the account and authorized workspace members. Sync may also keep local copies and a pending change queue on the device.

When you import a file, the app reads the file you choose to make a project. If you export or share a project or image, the chosen destination or recipient receives the content you select. Copies you send outside Land Ruler are governed by the recipient or destination.

Accounts and team workspaces

You may use device projects without creating an account. Selecting Continue temporarily creates or reuses an anonymous Firebase account. You can also register or sign in using email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple. Account processing can include a user ID, email address, display name, linked sign-in provider and authentication status. Apple may offer a private relay email address. Authentication credentials are processed by Firebase, Google or Apple as appropriate. Signing out does not prevent map, advertising or other services you use from processing the information described in this policy.

Sign-in providers may also process account verification details, such as a phone number associated with the provider account, and technical usage information under their own privacy policies. Land Ruler does not ask you to enter a phone number and does not offer phone-number sign-in.

Team workspaces store membership, roles and invitations. An invitation can include the invited email address, inviter's name and email, role and related dates. Team members with access may see shared workspace projects, their contents and relevant member details. Project changes and revisions may record user IDs and timestamps to support synchronization and collaboration. Workspace owners or administrators manage access according to the available app controls.

Advertising and purchases

The free iOS app can display Google AdMob banner, interstitial and app-open ads. Before requesting ads, the app checks consent information through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) and presents a consent form when required. Google Mobile Ads may process your IP address and approximate location inferred from it, device or app identifiers, ads viewed and interacted with, app interactions, SDK crash logs and performance information. Google uses this information for advertising, measurement, analytics, fraud prevention and SDK reliability. Advertising identifiers and tracking are subject to iOS restrictions and your applicable consent choices. Land Ruler Pro removes in-app ads while the entitlement is active.

Land Ruler Pro purchases and restores are processed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. The app receives product and transaction status needed to enable the paid features; Apple handles payment details under its own policy. We do not receive your full payment card number through the app.

We use Adapty to analyze subscriptions and the performance of subscription offer screens. Adapty processes an app-generated profile identifier, App Store product and transaction identifiers, subscription lifecycle information such as trials, purchases, renewals and cancellations, and offer-screen views when configured. This helps us understand subscription conversion and revenue. The current integration disables Adapty's advertising identifier and IP address collection and does not link the Adapty profile to your Firebase account. Adapty does not process your measurement projects or photos through this integration.

Usage analytics

When usage analytics is enabled, Google Analytics for Firebase (GA4) processes app-instance identifiers, device and app information, approximate location derived from network information, session activity, screen views and usage events such as starting a measurement, opening a subscription offer, requesting a purchase or restoring purchases. The SDK may also measure supported App Store transactions automatically. We do not send measurement coordinates, project contents, photos, names, email addresses or Firebase account IDs as Analytics event parameters. Land Ruler does not display a separate Analytics consent popup or an Analytics switch in More. It uses Google's existing regional privacy message and Consent Mode to respect applicable advertising and analytics choices. Collection starts disabled while that privacy flow initializes. Where the Google privacy check reports that consent is not required, analytics storage can be enabled without a consent popup. Where consent is required, Google Consent Mode applies the choices made in the existing privacy message; completing the message does not override a refusal. With analytics storage denied, advanced Consent Mode can send limited measurement signals without storing Analytics identifiers. You can revisit the Google privacy message through More → Privacy preferences where available. An Analytics opt-out saved in an earlier version remains respected. This integration disables IDFV and Analytics advertising-ID collection. Subscription lifecycle reporting through Adapty is a separate service as described above.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive your address and whatever information you choose to include, such as a project description or diagnostic details. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary to resolve your request.

Providers and international processing

The app uses third-party services for the features above. Their privacy notices explain their own processing:

These services may process information in countries outside your own, depending on their infrastructure and terms. Network requests ordinarily reveal technical information such as an IP address to the receiving service. Please review their notices for details of their data handling.

Your choices and requests

Retention, account deletion and security

Local projects and associated files are stored in the app's device storage. Project controls can remove records from the app; deleting a project or signing out does not necessarily remove every cached image or recovery copy. To remove the app's local storage, delete the app in iOS Settings; offloading it may preserve its data. Exported files and device backups must be managed separately. We retain cloud account and workspace information while needed to provide the service, maintain shared projects and history, resolve support or security issues, and meet applicable obligations. You can use the deletion controls or contact us to request removal. Provider backups and records retained for legal or security purposes follow the applicable provider schedules and requirements.

Account and data deletion: In Account & workspaces, use Delete account for a registered account. The app removes the personal workspace's project records and revisions, its activity, membership and invitation records, the account's memberships in other workspaces, and the Firebase sign-in account. It also attempts to remove other invitations addressed to the account. Pending synchronization or ownership of a team workspace can require action before deletion can finish. Account deletion does not clear local device data and may leave uploaded cloud photos or other retained copies. To request deletion of uploaded photos, an anonymous account or remaining data, email support@mobilerise.com with the subject Land Ruler iOS data deletion. We will verify your request and handle information under our control in accordance with applicable law.

Deleting an account or uninstalling Land Ruler does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel it separately in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.

Copies already exported, shared with other people, or stored by a third-party destination are outside the app's deletion controls. Some information may also remain for backups, security, dispute resolution or legal obligations where applicable. We use platform authentication and encrypted network connections provided by the relevant services to help protect data, and we restrict cloud workspace access through account and role controls. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

Land Ruler is a measurement tool and is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where applicable. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be reviewed or removed, contact us. We will assess the request under applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as app features or practices change. The effective date above shows when this version was last updated. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate through the app or another reasonable channel.
